Job Summary:

The employee will be capable of performing all the duties involved in sonic cleaning operations. This involves the startup and shutdown of the line, proper solution formulations and following work instructions precisely. Acts as a troubleshooter, analyzing and maintaining the processes. He/she will also perform all associated processes with preparing glass for molding or in some instances, lenses for final inspection. This may require the flexibility to work occasional overtime as required. When time permits, cross training in other areas may be required as well as the ability to run PGM machines during times of need. Provides assistance to less experienced individuals.

Summary of Essential Job Duties:


+ Involved with the initial cleaning steps and development of first run production jobs documenting the process to produce acceptable parts. This may require considerable analysis and judgment in cleaning solution make up and adjusting times in a variety of tanks and drying equipment.


+ Capable of interacting with supervision and engineering in a professional manner to suggest process improvements.


+ Documents all process parameters.


+ Will require frequently lifting


+ Will be handling heated glass from some operations that may exceed 400 degrees F. Cleans parts as production orders are issued. Issues parts to areas as needed through Visual manufacturing system.


+ Attention to details and paperwork is critical.


+ Insures that the quality requirements are maintained by inspecting parts visually and relying on feedback from the production floor and inspectors.


+ Will be required to clean and perform final inspection of IMA (injection mounted) parts and packaging.


+ Will be required to be cross functional with the ability to help out several areas such as centering, other sonic line cleaning, final inspection and PGM molding as needed.


+ Works with a minimum of supervision and monitors work of and instructs less experienced operators. May work as a PGM machine operator when not required for sonic cleaning work.



Additional Requirements:


+ Requires a minimum 1 years training and experience to acquire the knowledge of sonic cleaning processes, materials and equipment.


+ Ability to communicate well with various technical or development groups.


+ Represents RPO in a professional manner.


+ Previous ultra-sonic cleaning experiences a plus.


+ Mechanical abilities.




Requirements and Competencies:

Language Skills:


+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.



Mathematical Skills:


+ Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.



Educational Requirements:


+ High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:


+ Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.


+ Safety glasses are required on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in this work environment is loud and requires hearing protection. Personal protection equipment will be provided.


+ Some areas may require area specific safety training.


+ The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.


+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)


+ The employee is frequently required to use the computer.


+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand: use hands to fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.
